| Stafford County was once home to numerous Country Stores, which served as community focal points, providing groceries, fuel, feed for livestock, and social interaction, all under family ownership and operation. Residents of Stafford relied on these stores for necessities between their weekly shopping trips to Fredericksburg.
Unfortunately, few Country Stores have survived. Mountain View Market, formerly Byram’s Market, founded by the Byram family, continues to operate under new management at the Mountain View and Kellogg Mill Road location. (Photos and descriptions submitted by Mark Doyle)
