Figure of the Week

Elijah Threlkeld (1744-1798) lived on Aquia Creek in Stafford County, Virginia.  His farm was called Coal Trips.  Elijah was the son of Christopher Threlkeld, Jr. (1698-1757) and Susannah Threlkeld of King George County, Virginia.  In 1772 Elijah married Mary (Bronaugh) Waugh (died 1799), the daughter of Capt. David Bronaugh of King George and the widow of Joseph Waugh (c.1736-1763).  Elijah Threlkeld was sheriff of Stafford in 1777.
